The issue at hand is whether or not it is morally permissible to hunt game animals for meat consumption.
Here are some questions to consider:
- Is the killing of animals morally permissible at all?
- Does the intent of hunting for meat consumption have moral bearing?
- If so, how does this type of hunting differ from say trophy hunting (think deer heads hanging on Uncle Joe's wall)?
- Need the intent of meat consumption be the primary goal? How about hunting for population control with the game meat for food as a byproduct of the activity?
- How do the ethics of hunting and factory farming compare? Is one type of meat better than the other?
